I am leaving this harbor
Giving urban a farewell
Its habitants seem too keen on god
I cannot stomach their rights and wrongs
I have lost my origin
And I don’t want to find it again
Whether sailing into nature’s laws
And be held by ocean’s paws
Wanderlust, relentlessly craving
Wanderlust, peel off the layers
Until we get to the core

For a fluid identity

Today we are fluid beings. We constantly choose to adapt, to move, to evolve. We have adopted fluidity as much in the world of work as in our physical movements, our social relationships, and even our virtual presence. How can we live serenely with this perpetual change?

Does fluidity allow us to go beyond the polarities me-other, human-nature, man-woman, material-imaterial, stagnation-movement? Can we be multiple, fluctuating and draw strength from it? To be both fluid and anchored?

The Triennal takes over three emblematic sites in Ottignies and Louvain-la-Neuve and gives them a new identity; it also extends to Brussels and Paris. It invites the public to take up a new stance through works of multiple and polymorphous forms that appeal to the body, the senses and the imagination. A sensorial and emotional triennial to rethink our own fluidity.

CommissaRIAT

For its 10th Triennial of Contemporary Art, the Centre culturel d’Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve and its partners have entrusted the curatorship to Adrien Grimmeau, who developed the concept with Muriel Andrin.

Adrien Grimmeau is an art historian. Director of the ISELP, curator of exhibitions, he has devoted several books to the questions of art in the public space, including Le graffiti à Bruxelles. He is interested in questions of decompartmentalization and reception of works.

Doctor in cinema, lecturer and president of the master in film writing and analysis (ULB) (ULB), Muriel Andrin is a member of the CiASp (Centre de recherche en Cinéma et Arts du Spectacle) and Striges (Structure interdisciplinaire sur le genre) research centers. Her research focuses, among other things, on the encounters between cinema and contemporary art, as well as on gender issues.
